7. Tour: June 8th - June 20th, 1994 Films used: 118 47 Sensia100
Films used: 71 48 Sensia100
9. Tour: Nov. 22nd - Dec. 4th, 1994 Films used: 79 61 Sensia100 So altogether, I needed somewhat over 1.100 films to get the photo material I needed for both books. You can clearly see, that it is not easy to answer the question of just how many films you need for a two three week photo safari: the third tour holds my record with the most films (286) and the fourth tour, my record for the least amount of film material (43). The combination of films is also very interesting: Panther did not survive the try-out, and Fuji 50, as well as Fuji 100, were replaced during the last tours through Sensia 100. If you analyze the count, you come up with 114 films with 50 ASA, 710 films with 100 ASA and 91 films with 400, respectively 1600 ASA. In the future, I will drop the 50 in any case, since I will only be using the Sensia 100 in the lower regions. It is so sharp and fine-grained, that I can skip the Fuji 50 irreplaceably. I certainly could have taken most of the 400 slides with the K 200, so that for the future, it comes down to the following constellation for Africa: 20% K 200 , 80 % Sensia 100 and no need for any other types. This brings order and a clear view, which also means fewer camera casings for the different types of film and supports both, the speed and the concentration on the subject. * * *
